In a world where we are increasingly talking about an environment that is saturated with chemicals and pollutants, protecting the quality of the air we breathe and preserving the planet is not always easy. When we talk about pollution, we tend to imagine black smoke coming from factory chimneys or from our vehicles. And yet, it turns out that the air in our home could also be polluted. One of the most important factors contributing to poor air quality is the release of chemicals called volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from fabrics, furniture, paint and construction materials. These can emit thousands of VOCs that can reach our lungs.
Trueblinds.ca is proud to offer several products that areGREENGUARD GOLD certified. These products are listed in the UL SPOT sustainable product database, https://spot.ul.com/.Trueblinds.ca wants to help you understand why it is important to use low emission fabrics. If you care about chemical emissions, learn how to recognize our GREENGUARD® certified fabrics, and find out what this certification means.

The GREENGUARD® certification is awarded by UL Environment, an independent scientific organization that tests thousands of products to assess their VOC emissions. When a product is GREENGUARD® certified, it means it meets the most stringent requirements in the world, validated in the field and tested from actual chemical emissions performance. All GREENGUARD® certified products have undergone an objective testing program at UL laboratories, which verifies that their individual VOC emissions do not exceed 10,000.
The GREENGUARD® certification also involves an inspection of the manufacturing processes of the certified products. Where it has been scientifically proven that a product conforms to these standards, certification may be granted. In order to maintain GREENGUARD® certification, the product must be retested annually.
Previously known as “Children and Schools” certification, the GREENGUARD® Gold certification imposes the most stringent criteria to date for low-emission products. It was initially developed on the basis of a study on the sensitivity of children to chemical emissions, which are potentially more affected by VOC inhalation. A GREENGUARD® Gold certified product emits even fewer chemicals and has a particularly low level of formaldehyde, which means it is safe for children and vulnerable people, such as the elderly or the sick.
Protecting the environment and the health of our customers is important to us, which is why we make every effort to obtain the GREENGUARD® Gold

A new Corded Window Covering Regulations (CWCR) under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA) has come into force.
The CWCR requirements play an important role in helping to eliminate the strangulation hazard associated with string window coverings and help protect the health and safety of children.
The law requires that the length of a reachable cord cannot exceed 22 cm (8 ½’’) on all window coverings whether they are made in Canada or imported.
TrueBlinds is proud to offer you safe solutions for your window coverings.
